Classroom Environment

This week our school-wide expectation is our classroom environment. I have made a google slide with my friend Mikayla on the positives, negatives and what else we can do to keep our space tidy.

I think that the work we did was quite good, my next step is to actually do these things to make our environment tidy and keep it that way.

I got this information from my teacher but Mikayla and I thought of the ideas.

This week we are focusing on Basic facts. Today we have done a prototec. We did this prototec to get back into math.

My next step is to learn fractions and percentages.

Orana Park

Orana Park

Yesterday we went to go see animals at Orana Park. It was really fun to see all the animals but my personal favorite was the gorillas and lions. The gorillas were my favorite because they were really funny and they were having a snooze.

This week in maths we have learnt a new algorithm, at first, it was hard but now it seems really easy. Miss Waho said it was the only way they did math back in the olden days.

This week in literacy we learned about the Mariana Trench and the deepest parts of the ocean, we started off by reading this text on Monday and then we did so must-dos and activities. On this slide, you will see the activities and facts that I wrote and learned about.

Facts About Earthquakes

Extreme Earthquakes

This week in literacy we learned about earthquakes. On Monday we read the text we were given about earthquakes and started a slide, we also started are must do's. Our must do activities were answering 2 questions about the hypercentre and the epicenter, we also had to make up two questions our self and the answers had to be in the text and we had to write a poem or a rap about earthquakes.

On Tuesday we continued our must do's and started our activities. We had to choose at least 2 of the 3 activities to do. I choose to make an infographic and an earthquake emergency pack with all the things you need if you were in a big earthquake

Finally, on Thursday, we got everything finished. Here is my DLO of earthquakes:

Facts About Hurricanes

Huge Hurricanes

This week in literacy we were learning about Hurricanes and how they work.

First, we read the text and created a DLO ( Digital Learning Object) about the facts we had learned and all the questions we had to ask about the text.

Next, we started our activities and we also learned some cool facts like how do hurricanes move or Hurricanes in the northern hemisphere turn differently to the ones in the southern hemisphere.

Lastly, we finished our slide and completented it. Here is the slide with all of my activities.  Not yet finished.

My next step is to learn more about hurricanes and how many hurricanes there are in the world.

I got this information from a google doc our teacher gave us and from google.

I would like to know what you guys think of hurricanes and how I could find out more about them. 

How To Create A Great Blog Post

Today we looked at google doc of how to make a quality blog so I'm giving it a try now. We have looked at the doc red all the steps there are six of them. There are three types of bloggers: Beginner, Stepping up and Smart Learner. Here is a google slide to explain more.

I have not used a rubric before. I would like to be in the green part of the rubric and be a smart learner.  I think I am in the Orange part, so my next step is to be in the green part

Dancing Like The Stars

On Tuesday night the second of July 2019, we had our performance for Dancing Like The Stars. Our dance was choreographed by our amazing dance teacher Shawn, Our theme of the dance was Bollywood, it was very fun learning the dance and it was even more fun performing the dance. My personal favorite part of the night was when we got to see all the other schools dancing and watching Aaron and Vanessa dance after our performance. Here is the video of us dancing:

My next step is to learn more types of dance. I really enjoyed doing the dance and I hope you liked watching it😀

My Achievements In Literacy

My Highlights:

This term in literacy we have been learning about a lot of things but my personal favorite is our persuasive work because we got to make our own advertisements, I made an advertisement about my own store named little pizza street, here is the poster:

My Second highlight of the term is NZ sign language week because we got to learn the alphabet and the numbers in NZ sign language.

Something I would like to work on though is the amount a steps web I do because I have not done much lately. I would also like to work on how fast I get my work done.

Maori Assessment

Today I did a adjectives in maori assessment, I think I did okay but not the best. Here is my assessment and Miss Waho has not yet marked them but when she does I will be shore to post it, anyways here is may assessment so far:

My next step is to learn them since I am not that confident with my te reo maori.

My Advertisement

This week in literacy we have been learning about persuasive writing and what better way to do that then ads. Last week we were looking at how ads persuade you and now that we know we have made a advertisement of our own. Here is mine:

I have also made my own logo and my next step is to make a menu for my advertisement and add more to persuade my audience. 

Prototec

Today I did a stage 7 prototec. I got 30 out of 40 questions right. Overall I got 75% and I think I did okay. Here is a screenshot of my certificate for it:

My next step is to learn my Fractions, Percentages and Factors.

Culture Diversity Day

Culture Diversity Day

On Wednesday the 22nd of May we had a Culture Diversity Day and it was amazing. We had sausage sizzles, culture food, people doing performances and more. My favourite bit was when we got to watch all the performances, in my class we also lamingtons, fried bread and chip from fish n chips. Here is a picture from the lunch.

Overall I had a fantastic day and I learnt a lot about other kids cultures and were they come from.

NZ Sign Language

Sign Language Week

This week we in literacy we learnt about NZ sign language, Here is a slide I have made with facts about NZ sign language and a few screencastifys of me doing NZ sign language.

My next step is to learn how to understand sign language and learn how to speak more NZ sign language.

Te Reo Maori Assessment

In week one we did an assessment on classroom objects in Maori. We had to move the objects to the right name.

My Next step is to learn 12 out of 12 and learn even more objects then the ones here.
